Beeston Cycling Club

A Cycling Club for all

100 miles – 31st Jan

Hi all, here is the 100 route, Saturday 31st January
7am from Argos

This is not a club organized route and does not have any turn by turn instructions, so please print a copy of this map and bring it with you.
Adrian has said that he will download it to his GPS system, hopefully other people who have GPS will download too.
There will be a vehicle at 50 miles, either Long Bennington or Westborough which will have water and some malt loafs.
Given that my pace isn’t the fastest at the moment  and limited winter light,  I suggest that we start at 7am from Argos.
Let me know if you are up for it and who have GPS systems.
This is a good way to end January!!

  2. Link done (Adam taught me everything I know)

Yes GPS can be done but don’t follow me blindly unless you want constant shouts of ‘Hang on – we are off course’! Actually it works really well when I remember to use it properly

  3. I’m up for it, despite my lack of miles and excess ‘baggage’. A slightly later start would be welcome (7.30?), but I’ll go with the flow.

  9. Hi ALL,
Yes sorry for keeping a low profile. I’ve been so busy with the house etc and I was up in Glasgow at the weekend.
I do plan to ride this year – honest!!! The turbo trainer is now set up and I plan to do some hard riding to catch up on the fitness. I plan to go out this Saturday, so may see you all at 7am Argos (weather permitting though – think I’m turning a bit soft in my old age)@ Hare – Yes, I’m all good my Irish friend, you busy this Thursday night – do you fancy an evening ride and a catch up? Does Anyone else ride in the evenings? I may have to join the Beeston Honies on a Monday night!!!

  18. Judy here,

@ Nessy and Hare – if you aren’t doing anything really fast or up, may be I can join you??

  19. It looks like Graham T may also do the 100 miler.
He may well bring two cyclist he has recently made contact with.

Graham may be on a time pressure, so will wish to go at a faster pace than me, which is cool as long as there are two distinct groups for the ride with atleast two riders in each group.

Nadia and Nikki will aim to get to Long Bennington (50) for about 10:45 to 11:30 so fasters riders will need to put on the blog their ETA at Long B and I will see if Nadia and Nikki will get there earlier (not guaranteed though).

As you all know the map as at the top, click on “here”
